Fossil tree

The dawn redwood (metasequoia)was only known from fossils
and was thought to be extinct, then in 1944,a grove was
discovered in a remote valley in china. This one is in
Trewidden garden, cornwall and is one of the biggest in
the uk. It looks as though it has just walked out of the
jurassic and has quite a presence.
